Police are investigating a Monday night fire that destroyed the contents of what a Hawaii Fire Department press release described as an abandoned warehouse in Hilo’s Kanoelehua Industrial Area.
Seven units responded to the 7:42 p.m. alarm, with the first unit arriving on scene at 65 Makaala St. 11 minutes later. The fire was reported under control at 8:06 p.m. and extinguished at 8:10 p.m.
Estimated damages to the contents of the 500-square-foot vacant warehouse was $15,000. No injuries were reported.
